bitching/ranting me
It's nice to see strangers in bangkok who are concern & care for tourists like me n my friend. The tuk-tuk drive told us to hug and hold onto our bags for dear life cause he knows motorists can just snatch our bag if we don't do so. He told us all this despite our obvious language gap cause he cant master a english word besides " bag".
How nice of him!
We were lost ... not sure how to get back to hotel cause things looks different in the dark. heh. I wanted to cut across the pratunam market cause it would be a straight line distance, but pratunam market isnt made up of straight forward grids, apparently. Hence it is nice that an Auntie asked us where do we wanna go & ask us to just take the long route which is easier courtesy of the fact that it would be at least brighter. heh.
i wanted to go Chinatown & we were just asking around this chinese couple running a TCM shop what is the best way to go. Beyond giving us directions, they wrote CHINATOWN in thai so that we can show it the tuktuk driver in case he doesnt know. And also told us that chinatown is the place for buying gold & is full of good food in terms of places for dinner.
I couldnt finish the seseme balls-snack that I bought so I decided to pass it to the tuk tuk driver who gave us a good price to go chinatown. It is nice to see him really being happy abt it. I thought its nice tht he didnt reject my "leftovers". Sigh... things that different living environment do to you.
ok... what do I wanna rant abt? just abt my work. don't like her top-down; i-know-it-all , loud attitude. dont like her saying "what??!! the supplier is going on leave AGAIN? you should stress her more!! HAHAHA!"like it's such a funny joke. gawd. I nvr get the fact she is joking cause she sound so serious. she sound like her hobby is making suppliers miserable. AND THAT IS NOT ME.
also, why should i chase for ans when people dont even read email??? why do I want to make my job harder when people cant be bothered to do their part of job??? most importantly, why do i want to do more when people are trying so damm hard to do as little as possible?
what is the point of doing a sales forecast when you cant keep to that? felt damm good questioning this to the head of sales. heck. pls do your job well and so that stock level isnt a worry or a "concern"or a ïssue".
some1 left again and he told me that HR didnt handle his leaving in a positive way. gosh. this is the 2nd time I am told that HR creating bad PR for ourselves. Apparently HR raised their voice at him. tsk tsk tsk. Our HR cant even maintain their professionalism to talk over things in a cool calm way. How tragic.
i got a gentle warning (delivered in a LOUD voice) that i cant wear knee length pants. ON A FRIDAY. i wanna curse & swear! it's friday! i really wanna check which part of our employee handbook says we cant wear knee length pants to work on Friday. It makes me miss my ex-place EVEN more.
to think she asked "who wouldnt mind sharing a room with me".... erm, i hate to tell her, i literately do not know who.
My colleague could tell that I am different from the first few months I came in. HAHAHAHHA. How true. I am beyond giving them "face". I am showing my true chili padi colors! Which my professional mktg mgr already observed that in me months ago.
Suddenly, I pity my mgr. And I feel that my mgr simply have too much to do; she doesnt have time for the itsy-bitsy stuff. She has things she cant complete. She misses out (almost) on families' birthday. But at the end of the day I think she still like her job.
Cant say that for myself though. I am just thinking I will tender the moment the bonus is bank into my account. 3 months away.

Oh yes, I think I did flirted mildly since he started first, at least in my opinion, & on hind sight I think it's been a long time since I did that cause... there simply wast any eligible male from the last time till now. Lucky my boss wasnt around. hurhurhur.
14th nov is the last day. Hope we can end it with a nice last note. And yet I had never been more aware of Murphy's Law.
another month to BKK! I wonder will my thai friend keep his word & bring me around & show his hosptality. I guess if he doesnt, it prob means I was mistaken when I thought he was a friend for keeps. :S

urban decay portion
been wanting to try the urban decay eyeshadow portion since i know of this cult favourite!
the fact that it comes with travel size mascara, lip gloss and lip stick sealed the deal for me. I am such a sucker for travel size products/samples.
there is just this thing abt traveling & me. some people see traveling as a waste of money cause they just wanna things that are tangible to them. but i wanna see the world for myself more than anything!

fat boy's burger's joint
It is a place whereby u can customise your handburger; have good atmosphere and a good barrel of beer. The appertisers were reallllly big. Took up 1/2 a table already.
Look at the Fat Bestard! thatis the name of the beef burger which was almost as tall as the cup of drink. Supplier ordered that & although haven a healthy big appertite, he managed to finish 80% after trying very hard.
to me, the highlight of the dinner was when the supplier mimicked my response ... till no end! It was hilarious & I really laughed till i teared.

Spiciest Chicken Wing & Thai Food
it has a nice, relaxed vibes. :) Sunset is famous for its level 30- spicy chicken wings. No, we didnt order that. We went with 5th level since it was my first time there... have to test water!
It doesnt look very appertising huh?
& my main course: pan fried fish. Good!! crispy, fresh and sweet ; just the way good pan fried fish should be. I like the fries too. You can taste the original taste of potatoe.
The portion is quite good... though it feel its slightly expensive ($15?) since it was in a kopitiam setting complete with mosquitoes?! But, its unique and .... ok, i will pay for it :)
Anyway, we went to this place cause I had craving for pineapple fried rice. & i wasnt disappointed. The unfanciful looking dish tasted better than it looks. the floss went really well with the rice; tho the shrimps can be sweeter.

shaved ice at chinatown
this taiwanese type of shaved ice is distinctly different from our ice-kachang tpe of shaved ice cause they added milk inside to have a more chewy texture. & it doesnt melt easily! Perfect for our weather.
spent today totally in chinatown. there is a lot of things to look see and eat. & it always nice hanging out with ah-ho. just looking. just chatting. i done my homework to fnd out what my fav korea package togther with ah-ho :D
i'm so happy for the leads in My Fair Lady... discovered that I am possibly a fan of Yoon Eun Hye, caused I always followed her dramas! it's such a relief that the leads have a happy ending.
We definitely need as many happy endings as possible!

next motivation.
humans are such conflicting creatures... cause i feel time is too fast and too slow simulatanously.
Stephanie Meyers' new novel- The Host is food for thoughts. In this book, there are many other species of living things in the universe. Which I think is probably true. In this alien invasion, the aliens are actually peace loving and kind creatures except they look like worms and cant survive without a host bodies in other planets. Once they are inside a host bodies, they take over the bodies and erase the original personality within. It liks committing a personality-murder instead of physicial murder. Suddenly everyone who has the worm inside them is peaceloving, kind and honest.
cool, huh.

National Day Long Weekend
We just had our 3rd anniversary! How time flies. Not that we had celebrations, cause the trip to HK was in honour of our anniversary (and birthdays... we are so very giam).
We went to long-forgotten restaurant, cause Ichiban's queue was so horrendous. (at least the food there justifies the queue). Seems like the food there isnt as good as I remembered during my days as a Swensens-service crew. Those days are so loong ago! And those were the good ole days. hurhur.
The food doesnt matter;so long the company is right! And yes, the food are just so-so for the price and we are reminded once again, why we do not go there often.
Yes; i love you still :) Though I hardly say it and I am so super chia-peh-peh towards to you! heehee. You are my rock and pillar of strength which I appreciates very much.
On the down side, I am having a difficult time at work! I foget the stuff I am supposed to do even though I wrote them down and they are on my list. I forgotten to check on the timeline I was supposed to deliver the ads! How stupid I am??!!
I seem to not be able to finish my stuff; never chase my suppliers, am not clear in my instructions, did not manage to talk to my sales to get my trade prog accounts consolidated and lose track on what those numerous ad changes. I feel llike I dont know what my boss want! I live in fear of someone pointing out that I forgotten to do something or I had confused something up. AHHHHHHHHHH.
argh. ok. good to get it off my chest. so much to do to close up the loop holes.
sigh. i was too pampered at SLS.
time for some prep talk- I can do it! What don't kill me makes me stronger!!

Food along River Valley Rd
There is Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice. It is already famous enough... expensive chicken rice but I guess it is good and tasty enough to warrant it. Where else do you get pryamid shaped chicken rice, which is not excessively oily , fragrant and in tiny portion?
I'd seen people taking pics of their signboard. But I can't bring myself to do it. It is too touristy and freaky for a local to do that. Hurhur.I prefer the roasted chicken cause the skin is so crispy and fragrant. It doesnt have slabs of fats under neath it- just the way i like.
Next to Boon Tong Kee, there is a teochew restaurant called erm, Teochew Crusine Restaurant. How imaginative. They were featured on CH8 before, happy to say, this recommendation was well given.
And if you need desert, walk down to Valley Point's Ice Cream Gallery. They serve handmade icecream with fresh ingredients.
Freak accidents happen and I wonder what did those people do to deserve what they get?? ( cause I think I am a believer in karma, eh sometimes). I mean, get killed by falling trees when you are safely in a car? And people worries about car accidents on the other hand. Or getting smashed to death in a bus? By a crane? Which could have been prevented had he selected another seat.
It is so easy to comment about stuff in hindsight... but I truly believe what is meant to happen will happen. Tht is just meant to be. no matter how tragic/unfair/stupid. Who can you blame except yourself?

chihuahua
a chihuahua!!!!
gawd.
i wonder how my mother is gonna cope since she is anti-peys and she couldn't stop yelling at him to not bring it home. or to return his purchase. hmmm.; it is gonna be interesting!
A VERY Hot Summer Holiday
Hongkong people have a faster stride than Singaporeans. I can feel it when we are walking amongst them in train stations. I feel that they have really good service attitude as well.
3) Even though the waffles look cheesy or erm, mousy... it really tasted very good. I wolfed down mickey in about 4 bites.
6) We made it to the Victoria's Peak. One of the world's most expensive address. Yup, I can see why.
7) The view outside the Star Ferry (A tourist attraction in itself).
Same piece of land, at different time of the day...
7) Ocean Park is more suitable for adults like us! But it gets damm tiring and there is little seats for you to rest your legs unlike disney. But it is a beautiful place still.
had a taste of what a hot air balloon ride is all about. While queueing, our queue was cut by a China couple. They were so disgusting to try to cut about 30 people in front of them.
8) Caught in a tourist trap at Shenzhen thanks to a security guard. Guess i subconsciously tend to trust people in uniform. Saw people spitting loudly and openly at public places. it was so annoying.
