i heard what is syllabus B for mother tongue. but i didnt really know what it consists of. i just know that it is easier.
apparently, syllabus b learns chinese through hanyupin. & no1 cares if they cant read and write chinese to a certain level.
gosh!!!i plainly think it is awfully shameful that a chinese person cant read and write chinese well. some kids claim they have no interest in chinse- they just dun have interest in this subject. some parents just take this in their stride and accepts their claims and nvr encourage them to take up proper chinese. & it came as a surprise to me that parents accept so calmly.
if i say i have no interest in science, does that mean i should take easier level of science? no way! at least back in my sch days. it simply means i need work harder and practise and read more and more.
i would think this is a reversal of situation faced... say in the seventies ? or eighties? surely the chinese people then, who in the first place have the lucky opportunity to study in a sch, have bigger trouble understanding english than chinese. i wonder did the parents then say.. OK, lets just forget about english. why do u need english anyway?
