olivia ong & food & me

April 10: went to Tampinese to see Olivia & hear her sing live! we were there to wait for kelly as well. hurhurhur.

After that, we went to Jalan Kayu to eat prata with LiHui, Caryn, Siti and Bifeng.

Did all of us change? I can only observe the appearance. Some discovered makeup and fashion.

I discovered low carb diet. Hurhurhur. But that doesnt mean i dont eat prata or have craving for milio dinosaur. Unfortunately, the milo dino wasnt good. SIGH.

My smiley face before i had a sip of the milo dino.

Kelly Giang mentioned that there is a really famous nasi bryani @ Northpoint. well, shame on me, i live near there for so long but i just nvr got to eat to it. so i went the next day! it was really long queue like, 10 persons in front of me. Luckily, their speed was askin to QSR.

Rice was individually fragrant ; portion OK, chicken comes with a spicy gravy- i LIKE! must be ten times better than the one at Jalan Kayu.

Head of Sales celebrated his 39th bday and we got him the balloon as per below. R.I.P Youth!! I will mourn you when my turn comes as well. but then, it is all in the state of mind. :D I just cant resist taking a picture with this. hurhurhurur.

April 17: it is a beautiful saturday. Had some shopping fun! we went for lunch at LENAS first and we were pleased with the food but not with the service.

the size of the mint lemon tea was ... eh... huge.

We shopped all way from Bugis to Suntec. Because i wanna go New Look! But New Look didnt have anything for me despite my faith in it. We shopped from 3pm to almost 10pm. hahahaha. Shopping is fun; my form of destress therapy and I am just 10000% shoppaholic!

Finally passed the one month mark at Ciba Vision (CV). CV is really into CSR. We went to a Elderly Home last friday. Some of us were assigned to paint the walls; some simply to entertain or talk to them.

Yup, I was assigned to just talk to them and "help"them in their physiotherapy. But the physiotherapist just wanted us to talk to them & motivate them to exercise. Talking to one of them in particular was pretty nerve wreaking cause he was a cynical old man.

well, it's true our visit is "for show"and we cant really help them in the way they wanted us to. perhaps we just have to admit that we are selfish and not samatarian enough on an individual level. but as least we particpated in this "show"? On a corporate basis, indeed it is for show, but ... how many of the corporation bother to organise such CSR activities? it is a good gesture. but if one choose to be cynical abou it, i can also see why it is not a good gesture at the end of it all. it's about half empty or half full cup.

Anyway, upon seeing them, it just made me treasure life now more! I wanna see the world while I am still an able bodied young healthy thing!

it's been on my mind, although it is way too early but my birthday present for myself next year will be a trip to Korea! hurhurhurhur. wish me luck for a good fat bonus.

JB-Red Box

ytd, a group of 5 (bf's friend plus me) went to JB to eat cheap & fresh seafood. actually in times of cooking skills... it wasnt the most fantastic. but the seafood was realllly super fresh and worth the drive. i guess it is becoz they literately catch the seafood themselves since the restaurant was kelong style. too bad we were there on a low tide if not the feel would have been better.

also, his friend totally impressed us by talking his way out of a summon!!!!!!!!!!!! he spent 20 min to talk his way outta of a 300 rm summon when we thought it was a gone case, as we saw that the TP was writing and writing on his notepad. anywayzzzzzzzz... we were just so super glad that we were let off with a verbal warning.

first time went to RedBox and it reminds of the Holiday KTV in TW. it is goood. finally can understand why Alex has a membership card there. Kbox reallly pales by comparision and it has been eons since i went there.

i look forward to the next time we can do this again!

I WILL CONQUER IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!

if not, i think i will just throw in the towel by the end of probation time. i mean... why waste each other's time if i am not gonna be happy there? anywayzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. will be trying my best. i actually dont feel sleepy now that i finnally reached home.

there is a weird adrenaline rush inside me. hm...................maybe i had been not-busy for too long?!

startin earlier than expected

i am gonna start my new job this thursday!

these days, all i can think about (mostly, beside shopping) is writting my farewell emails and starting my new job. i am composing the farewell email on-&-off in my head... hahahaha. sounds like i cant wait to leave, yah? which is not really true, cause its not like i cant wait to start at the new place.

i always have phobia of first day at work. & i am not good at saying goodbyes... in any case, being employed gives me good mood so i bought cheapo sunglasses at Cotton On x 2 pairs!!!!!

hardly can find sunnies which look good on my flat face. so just get them all! :)

& oh. the power of an addictive idol drama- i am going GAGA over Jerry Yan~!!!!!!!!

good luck to ZH

ZH is going to Nouvelle-Calédonie. is on the way. on the flight. on his first business trip.

New Caledonia has a history not unlike Australia. The indigenious group of people was not treated fairly. The once pure island was colonised by Europeans. And slowly the indigenious ppl became the minority. There was even apartheid treatment.

it is yet another small island not unlike Singapore but our history is much more kinder on our ancestors. I mean, everyone suffered during WW2, but not everyone has to go through apartheid treatment!

I dunno how this island looks like. I only hope that ZH can have time and the memory to take some pics for me to see. i do feel excited for him.

and i wonder... when can i also travel for work? it is a different exposure which is definitely helpful in self development and experience... n i find myself wanting what i cant have. at least at this point of time.

melbourne - back with thanks n gratefullness!

happy to announce that i had a good time in melbourne. afterall it was a holiday and always always CHoOSE to be happy!! haha.

i had a good time despite my cosmetic pouch's zip spoilt, broke my sunglasses , damage my necklace and grew some pimples over there.

the stars above had some pleasant surprise for me in the form of farrah and leia! yiitng's flatmate n younger sis. they are such friendly and hilarious pair of sisters! they were around to provide some much appreciated company to Great Ocean Road and Phillip's Island. Not to mention Old Melbourne Gaol and Skydeck which leia got us both student concession tics.

yiting let me sleep on the bed while she took the sleeping bag. she is just so sweeeet. :)

i thought i need to survive on my own somehow someway, but it ended up that we could hang around in pairs minimumly. They were around to help me carry my boxes of potato chips. thank god!!

it is just amusing to see melbourne in terms of grid! esp during on flight. those neat little squares just seem a little tooo neat. hurhur. like something out of cartoon!

emirates' inflight entertainment was a pleasant surprise too. my 800SGD return tics seem a steal for the 7.5 hour one way flight. there was so many latest movie to see and music to hear amongst other stuff. food & service was all right tooo. nothing to complain about.

i am glad the colleagues like the chewy nougat i carried back from queen vic market. i actually bought 2kg worth of nougat!! which i guess if i put at my office, can only last 2 days >,<.

well... i am really glad i went to visit yiting just like the way i said i would. i am glad i kept my promise to yiting and everything worked out well :)

i am glad that i kinda i sense some improvement within myself ... a better stronger person. i had some toxic people around me... okay. maybe just one. i am kinda anxious to move on. just so i wont be stuck in the past. as pathetic as can be. wanna be rid of the ghost and devil and toxins!!
wanna meet my challenges as the corporate slave i was never before!!!

mixed feelings

i've yet to tender but will do soon. as it turn out... i dun have a major increment despite the long time they spent negotiating.=X

the interviewer has already told me that there is no such thing as work life balance. OMG. wadatian! i guess minimunlly they end their day at 8pm? i am trying to do all the mental preparations i can at this point of time. i guess i wont be reaching home at 7pm in time for the freshly prepared dinner and the long running drama serial. it is pretty heart-breaking to me. but ... my dreamland has to reach an end, someday somehow.

in the mean time; i am a mixed bag of feelings now. i've grown too too attached to the colleagues and surroundings around me. cant bear to leave! yet i yearn to leave. regardless for better or for worst; that is something only time can tell.

3 more days to melbourne. i will be like a solo traveller for half the time. time to train my guts , independence and survival instincts! not to mention navigation and map reading skills ?! biggest adventure to date! exciting but kinda scaryy. i am not as brave as those personality skills say i am!

Thursday, February 18, 2010

i am scared.

i am scared...

scared by the rate at which time passes by so quickly. :C

Pre-CNY 2010

we are all off for the CNY break- how happy is that ? :D As usual, SLS usually receives some cny hampers/ goodies from our vendors & this year, the best delicious item received, to me, is the Black Gold Pineapple tarts. I dunno where it is from but its really very nice.

Instead of the buttery base u get from the usual pineapple tarts, the black biscuit base, which is made from charcoal, just never makes u feel jia-let. unique & oiishiiiii. i just gotta take a pic before it is all swallowed up! haaaaa.

i've heard good things about 7th storey. so i am pretty disappointed when i finally got a taste of it.

the stuff served didnt look very appetising.
oh well. once is enough.

what i want to be doing NOW

What do i want to be doing NOW?

I want to be packing bags so that i can go holiday. i dont care if i get lost in unfamiliar land. everything is an adventure! what dont kill me makes me stronger! but i cant. it is just too early. so at least... i will write about it.

What do i want to have by next week?

Some ang baos. so that if i get lost in unfamiliar land, i can have some money to take a cab back to my accomodation.

What do i hope to have by next month?

A new job, pls pls pls! i'm getting desperate, i will be good and do everything it takes to win that new job!! duno when will that be happening, but at least ... i can voice it out here!

love n faithfullness (2)

u know what?

in reality, most of us generally think it is ok if we cheat... while ensuring the other partner remains in blissful ignorance. cause cheating & hurting is distingushed. i duno how much this speaks about our morals though. anyway.

TIGER WOODS & MISTRESSES & CHEATING?! FAIL. bad bad case of cheating & hurting. supreme bad choice of mistresses. i somehow vaguely remember that in those saucy sms that Woods exchanged with the mistresses, he had texted something along the lines of i-love-you. well, the mistresses loved him back! if the women did indeed love him, they must have love him deeply enough to see him going through his current state of being.

random note:

ROMANIAN DIPLOMAT & Hit-&Run? SUPER FAIL. supreme bad case of cheating , hurting & killing! i really hope u receive the supreme karma for what you did & didnt!! even though this clearly illustrates how UNFAIR life can be.

love and faithfulness

sometimes, i wonder if the best & luckiest thing that has happen to me ... is that i have my kungfu panda/bf to be with me. i wont say he is The One... but i guess he is pretty close. i'd given up wishing for a handsome perfect partner... handsome cant bring u a piece of mind. perfect does not exist. i really do think and admit that what he has given me is more than what i had given him.

i remember reading somewhere that guys are programe to be polygamous while girls believe in monogamy. sometimes i wonder, how does it feel like to be a gf of a handsome bf who cheats, but return to your arms (faithfully) at the end of the day? how much does being faithful matters in a committed r/s?

my insides are twisting as i imagine the girl. will the girl think it is OK , so long it is just a short-lived fling/ ONS? is it OK if it was JUST once? twice? less than 10 times? is it ok, so long that she is kept from knowing?

maybe at the end of the day, ignorance is bliss. most/some women dun mind closing one eye as long as they see no evidence right in front of their eyes. n even if there is evidence, men gets forgiven anyway.

sigh. love is blind.

mother tongue

i heard what is syllabus B for mother tongue. but i didnt really know what it consists of. i just know that it is easier.

apparently, syllabus b learns chinese through hanyupin. & no1 cares if they cant read and write chinese to a certain level.

gosh!!!i plainly think it is awfully shameful that a chinese person cant read and write chinese well. some kids claim they have no interest in chinse- they just dun have interest in this subject. some parents just take this in their stride and accepts their claims and nvr encourage them to take up proper chinese. & it came as a surprise to me that parents accept so calmly.

if i say i have no interest in science, does that mean i should take easier level of science? no way! at least back in my sch days. it simply means i need work harder and practise and read more and more.

i would think this is a reversal of situation faced... say in the seventies ? or eighties? surely the chinese people then, who in the first place have the lucky opportunity to study in a sch, have bigger trouble understanding english than chinese. i wonder did the parents then say.. OK, lets just forget about english. why do u need english anyway?

blog advertising

i noticed CK watches doing product placement on one of the top blogshops.

imy impression of the brand CK plummeted. it's like, COME ON. Isnt CK supposed to be retailing in Paragon???? Somewhat high-end? even if i am mistaken, isnt this sort of mistakes a favourable one for CK?

& now?? it downgraded to Blogshop??? No doubt it is the most popular blogshop. But blogshop's success stems from one word- CHEAP.

blogshop is cheap. CK found on blogshop. => CK is cheap. Deductive reasoning, anyone?

anyway, it achieved its awarness target. but definitely not any sales from me. i would say, wrong move, CK.

last few moments of 2009/first few moments of 2010

last few moments, i was out with ah giang, knew her since i was 13. means our friendship has stretched to almost ten years already. WOW.

went to ginza bairin. the food?? 60/100 points. i hardly remember what was good about it. it just taste like other curry rice from other similar restaurants/cafe.
me & BF finally went to watch Avatar! When i first saw the trailer, i wasnt really into catching the show. but all the raving reviews made me wonder if i missed out something.
i am so glad we caught it in 3D!!! it was simply fab. BF couldnt stop repeating all the lines which he remembered. sigh. SHOPPING TIME! well... we gotta do something while waiting for the movie to start. once upon a time i would nvr even consider buying red-anything much less a tomato red jacket. but i saw one in Pull&Bear and fall in love with it. And wore it promptly after the making the purchase. lol.
some stupid cam-whore pics which i practically force BF to help me take. & no i will nvr buy red sunglasses to match my red jacket.

Chipmunks are simply sooOOoo cute. they would be cuter if they are NOT as tall as me though.

holidays are always fab fab fab!!! when is the next one coming...?

reflections for 2009

Dear Self,
It seems that 2009 passed by faster than 2008! How is that possible? But this feeling does exist. Perhaps Í am more acutely aware of how precious is time?

There had been so many unexpected happenings. Some made the year memorable while others made it a dread. But when one is down... there is no way but up. The feelings of disappoinment makes one bitter with life and I learnt a way to overcome that. i.e. Manage Your Expectations. I can never be too optimistic anymore- Expect Nothing and Nothing Will Disappointment you.

This 2009, I sure did accomplished some serious damage while on unexpected holidays! It was never in the plan to go Taiwan but I did. It was never in the plan to go Japan... But I Did. I am happy to say that I did it On My Own. I earned and saved what I could and go where I wanted. Stuff that you earned just taste sweeter.

This year, I discovered the word "Branded". I lusted after branded bags especially. I splurged on Kate Spade and Coach and Blue Label. But with my limited budget... the items I got are the ones that the shops are trying to offload and when the shops are trying to offload... there has got to be a damm good reason. Most of the bags Í've got are casual bags with NO zippers! Very easy for the pickpocket to target!! BUT I love them all the same.

Simultanously, I discovered "Quality n Style". I used to love to buy cheap clothes which has short life span. As I discovered the Branded, Qaulity seems to come hand in hand. I am slowly replacing my wadrobe with afforadable quality. I am also replacing my wadrobe with as much individual style as possible thanks to my addiction to foreign magazines. They make fashion fun & I want to be a part of it.

And for that reason, I had almost turned into a compulsive shopper who can't escape the lure of SALE. I can gaurantee that if there is a good sale... i HAVE to be there if only just to take a Look. This year has got to the year I've shopped the most so far.

This year... I've really had a lot. I had a lot of comsumerism and materialism. I had disappointments, uncertainties, fun, joy, laughter and a damm lot of good food.

Next year- year 2010. I will just take things one step at a time. My optimism and foolishness has decreased with age and experiences in life. & I am glad. They are gone for a reason.

Year 2010- I wasn't anticipating you. In fact, I kinda dread you. I don't know what you will bring and I don't know if I will be able to handle you. Hence, I will be clinging onto my new-found mantra for dear life. My sixth sense says it will be a crazy ride though :)

i had done something gross

i had done something gross. i went ahead to try out the beatyfoot product which promises to get rid of your feet's dead skin so that you can have baby smooth feet again! i realllly reallly had a lot dead skin on my feet... so much that i cant stand it! (pun intended) so, yah. as it promises, your dead skin will start to flake after 2 days and will continue flaking after all the dead skin are gone. mine is a massive pile of dead skin which made me feel like a snake! i am shedding skin!

it feels much like being sun-burnt whereby your skin will naturally shed anyway. to accelerate the shedding process , i peel and peel and peel... & it kinda addicitve. ahahah. is it gross or what... but i cant wait to have baby feet.
i pretty much completed all the peeling but i still have conified layers at the sole.
oh-well... i did have a VERY VERY VERY deep layer of dead skin to begin. overall, the japanese are fab! its painless & not as gross as i had anticipated. i anticpated ... bits and pieces of dead skin flaking as you walk. but it's not like that. phew.
& i bought a leather jacket after much hunting and thanks to the mango sale. its the exact shade of brown which i want. the washing instructions that comes with it was .. FAB. because it says NO WASHING, NO Dry Cleaning even. hurhurhurhur. suits me to a t.
but i have to say. the leather is squeaking as i move. i wonder how much does it take to break into the shape and be seasoned into butter soft leather??
& i am sick! it is like the first time i am sick while having public holidays/weekends. what a let down cause i cancelled plans which i made way in advance and i've yet to see my bf in this week. sigh sigh sigh. he doesnt have it easy, cause he worked till 1am on xmas eve to meet his project deadline.
all i can do- hope that his co wins the project bidding after all his hard work!

i love my mom

i bought a pair of ripped jeans in the mango sale. i love it more after my mom asked me where is there holes in the new pairof jeans which i bought.

i simply find it hilarious.

i find it hilarious when she models her new clothes for me to see while fishing for my compliments (only). i stubbornly refuse to say her new clothes are nice just to drive her crazy and see her convince herself that she did iNDEED made a purchase which looks nice on her.

LOL. i *heart* her to the max. coz she is so typically auntie that is supremely funny.

the holiday season havent exactly started but i am eduring a crazy sore throat already. =X too much fried food, i would say.

i plan to use the long weekends to detox myself from all the shopping, materialism and consumerism that i had committed... some forced (i.e. xmas exchange) but mostly unforced of course. since japan, i had the guilty feeling of overspending... i even start to wonder why am i in a hurry to be rid of the monee that i carry with me.

each outing that i go... i spend about $100 on average. OMG. it must be the sale thats driving me nuts. but knowing that i staying away from malls, makes me feel safer with myself. hahahaha.

normallly, i am not so uptight with my expenditure. but now, i am vexed!!

is there any good news for me???

tiring

things are bound to be falling apart...

and it is just tiring to be always waiting and anticipating it. emotionally draining as much as you dont consciously think about it.

we are slacking at work!! openly playing with iphone (obviously, that is not me) and just surfing net to pass time. i have to admit my job hunt bore no fruits at all. i reason that ppl are not leaving their jobs esp since AWS is coming! ppl arent gonna leave their jobs untill march! at least after cny is over ...& they finished receiving all the bonus. gah!

i wonder when will i finally land an interview not to mention a job.

on a happier note, time pass by very fast regardless what i am doing during office. perhaps that is becoz gm is not around?

i do want time to pass by fast... at least there is my melbourne adventure adventure to look forward to!

Friday, November 27, 2009

was i rash?

i booked a 6 day trip to melb due in feb.

i just booked a 8 day trip to hong kong in july. now i am wondering... do i really need 8 days? gosh! that's a lot of leave!!!

i feel the pressure to secure another good paying job pronto!

i had a good time with my bf's friends. i know that we are on different frequencies though. they feel most at ease at a kopitiam place but i prefer cafes anytime hands down. anyway, next time i wont be suggesting them places to eat anymore. i learnt my lesson.

i dont think queen&mangosteen serves bad food but they just happen to order the one that didnt make the mark. i like my chicken dish fine. haha. when in dounbt, just order chicken to play serve and not steak! that is another lesson which i learnt.

but to me, its fun to hang out with people who are different from you. widen your perspective indefinitely.

daisuke- nihon- Shopping

i think that one should never ever ask ppl to buy blue label back from japan for ownself. well, i did attempt to ask before but i was not really serious about it. & really - i realize it is such a mistake to ask ppl to buy for you.

you reallly have to buy one for yourself. it is to comemorate that you had spotted something nice in Japan! like the 3 of us. hahahaha.

its about the FEELLL-LING. you would understand if you happen to be a shoppaholic like me.

Ginza distict reminds me of Orchard Road. except people in Orchard Road never turns up in tuxedos. The japanese dotted their streets with small lighted xmas tress. cute leh.

i absolutely heart the outlet shoppping. heart to the max!!!!!!!!!! why isnt there one in sg? is it because we are too small to have one? must be i guess.

i duno when will i get to have a second time to outlet-shop in japan... :S

daisuki- nihon- Mt Fuji

we stayed over at a hot spring hotel on the 3rd night. you can see mt fuji right outside the hotel window provided weather is good. quite cool huh.

but we never made it to the hot spring . we made it to the common area to blow dry our hair coz there was no dryer in the hotel room. we saw sagging skin and young bouncy boobs! at least erm, i noticed. hahahaha.
it really is the coldest weather i had experience so far. with the wind blowing? it makes it so so much worse. & yah, the pic didnt turn out so great ya. hahaha.

messy hair, rudolph nose, after about 20 min in the cold.

so cold that we dun have water to wash our hands. water supply has vanished in the cold waether! clucky i got wet tissue!!!!!!!! woohoooOOO!!

finally made it into the warm coach after a 10 min mad dash from the cold. YAY!

daisuki- nihon- Food & Beaverage

7d5n trip- we had udon, sukiyaki, udon, tempura, sashimi, udon, rice , rice, miso soup, buffer dinner, udon and tempura within the tour package.

it was exceptionally nice to eat this sukiyaki in the cool cold weather. overheard some uncle/auntie saying if they eat the same thing in Sg, they would be sweating loads unlike in Japan, where all they get is a nice warm fuzzy feeling in the stomache.

Example of our lunch/dinner... for about 2-3 days?

The sashimi boat. the second most expensive food that we spent on. it was fresh from fish market. apparently japanese dun bother serving stuff that are not fresh. even tho i just am not into sashimi... i can tell it is FRESH, SWEET and just pretty wonderful.

the yellow gluey mess was the flesh of sea urchin. gosh! i never thought i eat sea urchin and it tasted as gross as it looks. acquired taste, as people would say. which i havent acquired yet.

The freakin prawn was quite big and looked alive, esp the eyes. so black and shiny!! i can envision it swimming in the sea just what? 12 hours ago? i didnt dare eat it for a moment.

i just wanted to know what it feels like to eat ice cream in a cold cold place. even the cheapest ice cream i could find is creamy and soft. although it is not exactly dirt cheap after coversion. i think it cost 2 sgd.
collagen and those genki drinks aplentiful over there and i am glad spotted coke-plus-fibre over there! i like the idea of drinking fibre within good ole coke. they should launch it here in sg pronto!!

& japs love honeydew. i duno why.

hot corn soup was a hit within our tour groups esp after spending some time in low temperature. there were people who bought a couple of cans to bring back home. Gosh! as great as they are, i wouldnt be bringing back these home. campbell soup will do just fine.

daisuki- nihon- the Hokkaido Crab

i love my japan trip. i love japan's autumm even with the 24H rain and strong winds. i love that i dun need to queue for toilets cause japan has enough room to build 30 cubicles within a toilet compound. and each one is clean and stocked with toilet paper!!!!!!!!!!!

i am not going recount the trip details... lemme just jot down some of the more interesting memories though.

the temperature was lower than expected (average 15 degree celcius?) but i somehow made it through without freezing to death in my 2 layers t-shirts and jeans and jackets. Our tour guide is a hongkie who preferred speaking in Cantonese. just my luck that i was practically the only who dun understand the Cantonese joke and stories that he was sharing. BLEAH.

lets start with The Hokkaido Crab Story.

Hokkaido Crabs are legendary in Japan. but who says you must go Hokkaido to eat Hokkaido Crab??
The tour guide has a Hokkaido Crab lobang if we want to taste Hokkaido Crab while we are in Tokyo. Because he can help us DHL one over to our hotel. While he was droning on and on about the Crab in cantonese , i fell asleep in the bus.

Then my friend just tap me and ask if i wan to try the Hokkaido Crab. well, groggy from my sleep i just said OK without asking about the freaking price. & then i found out that the crab costs 14K yen ! which was unbudgeted for!!!!! shit! means i have to fork out 7K yen. i guess if i didnt fork out the 7k yen for the Crab, i would have a LOT MORE snacks to air freight over. anyway, i really wonder whats the profit margin the tour guide gets to earn. or is it truly a free non-profit service?
but since i agreed already... lets just hope it will be worth it.

heard that it was caught in the morning, boiled in the afternoon, delivered to hotel in the evening. it would be worth it if my appetite is bigger i guess. the first bite is really amazing- very soft n sweet. but after the second leg - i was full already. afterall we had this Crab after dinner. sigh.

it sure looks alive! its body- just slightly smaller than my face?
it is my first time using a scissors to eat crab. usually i just try to bite and crack open the shell. anyway... it is quite fun to use the scissors. hahah.
loooooooook- my first glimsp of the very takaii crab meat. after the first bite- i am never taking cheap crab stick meat again! what an insult to the taste of crab meat. every bit i took probably cost 10 SGD.

presenting the Legless Hokkaido Crab!

My Mad Friend went on to dismantle the Crab's body. quite adventurous but i really pity the Crab which looks alive. my vegetarian boss would freak and be grossed out , i bet!

I wonder where is the brain... she said the grey color part is the organ for breathing and not its brain...
in the end, we pack up the corpse, stuff it inside the styrofoam box and made sure its closed dammm tight. if not, it might emit a stench... as advised by our hongkie tour guide.

crying is contagious

life begins & ends. starts in the pink of health (usually) & end (usually) in sickness. its only natural. except to see it being cremated is extremely saddening.

and then, life goes on despite all the tears and heartbrokenness.

i dont like to talk about death. it brings tears to the eyes. & i learnt that crying is contagious as well.

my ten year old cousin is a chubby, cherubic & lovable kid &... is extremely interested in losing weight! gawd. hearing her talk about wanting to lose weight just takes away a little of her cherubic-ness. She is extemely interested in nail colors. more so than me, i would say. anyway she is sOOoOOOO CUTE!

& i have a little Moses Lim in my brood of cousin as wel. SUPREMLY overweight & VERY comical. hearing him talk is just full of LOL moments. we all encourage him to be a commediene. he does have very nice feature so we guess that when he finally is tired of being fat, he will slim down & be a ladies'man simply cause he is dammmmm funny.

tw actresses

watching Black&White, i realize the taiwanese actresses are starting to look all the same.

the same...
big doe eyes
sharp angular nose
small mouth

& tend to be short.

like zhang shao han, gou cai jie, wang xin ling, yang chen ling & chen yi han.

i thought chen yi han from Black&white look esp like zhang shao han!!

maybe it has always been this way. no wonder sunyanzi is practically one of a kind & irreplaceable even till now.

non food craving fulfilled

yes- i've got myself a pair of comfy-looking boots. wearing boots definitely upped one person's style quotient (when that person is fashionably sensible, anyway) but too bad we live in sunny spore. i'll be sure that i have evidence it existed i.e. takes lotsa photos which shows my shoes when in chilly japan.

yes yes, i paid up for the tour package and my annual leave has been approved already !! woo hoooooo~~. this is for sure! no false alarms!!

i guess there goes a bulk of my savings. but i am not that stingy when it comes to holiday. though i am worried about jobs&related matters. but HECK LA. such things are outta control anyway. i suspect one fine day they ask me to be a mgt trainee since my portfolio has been halted to a screeeching stop (almost) anyway.

it is a depressing state. no wonder jobless people tend to be sucidal. erm. kidding.

wat i am telling myself is- i will deal with it when i come back from japan.

meanwhile. i am hating my painful pimple, counting down & researching on fall fashion. whahahahahahahahaha.

CF shoot in some ulu nice place

back in Aug, someone in the sara lee house plonked some monee to shoot a CF featuring a local celeb. (goonnna air soon!) . anyway, quite fun to see old familiar things like boom mic, reflector & whatever-names-i-had-forgotten.
some rich bodies lived there and rented out the place to the production house for the shoot. the owners were pet owners of BIG dogs.

we heart the husky! siberian husky, they said. but i think sib husky prob dun like Sg since they are meant in live in.. Siberia?? (haha, very airhead, i know). this one was very pretty tame & doesnt bark a lot.

and a group shot before leaving...

MF09

mediacorp festival was a trade show disguised as a 3h talentshow. lucked out that i could go & witness it for myself. there was aunty lucy, barbarella & even the beloved PCK. (& it feels like Ch5 hadnt managed to create yet another iconic tv character after him...) it really was entertaining & i wished we taken more pics. heehee.

and i wouldnt so sure that i have a second chance to go there again... sigh...

jeanette aw's cheongsam really was quite short!! i felt like we stranded in Beautiful People land. left, right, centre, front & back- it is really bad for the self esteem of a girl like me =X

cool haiku

i awaken with
clear head; unfortunately
it's also empty.
